-the adapter of the diesel compression gauge on
the (Mot. 1592).
a Moderately tighten the unions of the diesel com-
pression gauge using an open-jawed spanner.
a Connect the self-contained starter.
a Force the vehicle's + after ignition feed.
a Connect the diagnostic tool.
a Run commands:
-RZ009 "Program vehicle functions",
-VP036 "Inhibit fuel supply".
a Operate the starter for 15 seconds until the needle
of the diesel compression gauge stabilises to ob-
tain the maximum value.
a Make progress with the diagram sheet.
a Carry out the same procedure for the other cylin-
ders.
a Check that the cylinder compression values are all
approximately equal.
a Run command VP037 "Stop fuel supply inhibition".
a Disconnect:
-the diagnostic tool,
-the self-contained starter.
a Undo:
- the diesel compression gauge on the hose end
piece (Mot. 1592),
- the flexible end piece (Mot. 1592) using an open-
jawed spanner.
a Remove the flexible end piece (Mot. 1592) which
was fitted in place of one of the removed plugs.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Connect the connector to the fuel flow regulation so-
lenoid valve.
a Connect the connector to the fuel pressure regula-
tion solenoid valve.
a Refit the heater plugs (see 13C, Preheating, Heater
plugs Removal - Refitting, page 13C-3) .
