TOP AND FRONT OF ENGINE
Timing belt: Removal - Refitting

Check
a Check that the camshaft pulley mark is still aligned
with the inner timing cover mark.
a Check that the crankshaft is correctly centred:
-the crankshaft groove (9) should be in the middle of
the two crankshaft closure cover ribs (10) ,
-the crankshaft timing sprocket mark (11) should be
set one tooth to the left of the engine's vertical axis.
a Refit the high pressure pump support bracket.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Apply a drop of SILICONE ADHESIVE SEALANT
(see Vehicle: Parts and ingredients for the repai-
rwork) (04B, Consumables - Products) to the TDC
setting pin plug.
a Refit the TDC pin plug.
a Torque tighten the TDC pin plug (25 N.m).
a Refit:
- the timing cover,
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspended
engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-18) ,
-the lower engine tie-bar (see 19D, Engine moun-
ting, Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Refitting,
page 19D-33) ,
- the crankshaft accessories pulley (see 11A, Top
and front of engine, Crankshaft accessories
pulley: Removal - Refitting, page 11A-15) ,
- the accessories belt (see 11A, Top and front of
engine, Accessories belt: Removal - Refitting,
page 11A-7) ,
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection),
-the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the engine undertray,
- the scoop under the scuttle panel grille (see Scoop
under scuttle panel grille: Removal - Refitting)
(56A, Exterior equipment),
- the scuttle panel grille (see Scuttle panel grille:
Removal - Refitting) (56A, Exterior equipment),
- the engine cover.
a Connect the battery (see Battery : Removal - Refit-
