TOP AND FRONT OF ENGINE
Rocker cover: Removal - Refitting

a Using a stipple roller, apply RESIN ADHESIVE (see
Vehicle: Parts and ingredients for the repai-
rwork) (04B, Consumables - Products) to the joint
face until it is well coated.
a Use a cloth to remove any RESIN ADHESIVE in the
rocker cover bearings (6) .
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the camshafts while positioning them correctly
(see Upper engine: Specifications) (Technical
Note 6023A, 10A, Engine and peripherals).
a Refit the rocker cover.
a Tighten the rocker cover bolts in order as illustrated
above.
a Tighten to torque:
- rocker cover bolts 23, 18, 19, and 24 (14 N.m),
- rocker cover bolts 1 to 17, 20, 21, and 22 (12
N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit the camshaft timing end seals (see 11A, Top
and front of engine, Camshaft seal at timing end:
Removal - Refitting, page 11A-186) .
a Refit:
- the inlet camshaft sprocket,
-a new nut on the inlet camshaft sprocket,
- the exhaust camshaft sprocket,
-a new nut on the exhaust camshaft sprocket,

WARNING
Applying excess sealant could cause it to be
squeezed out when parts are tightened. A mix-
ture of sealant and fluid could damage certain
components (engine, radiator, etc.).
