TURBOCHARGING
Turbocharger oil pipe: Removal - Refitting
K9K, and 830 or 832

a Refit a new hollow bolt for the turbocharger oil sup-
ply pipe bolt on the turbocharger.
a Tighten to torque:
-the turbocharger oil supply pipe nut on the cy-
linder head (35 N.m) using the tool (Mot. 1566) or
the tool (Mot. 1746),
-the turbocharger oil supply pipe hollow bolt (14
N.m),
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Fit the air filter unit air outlet pipe.
a Connect the air filter unit air outlet pipe to the turbo-
charger.
a Torque tighten the clip for the air filter unit air out-
let pipe clip on the turbocharger (5.5 N.m).
a Connect the air filter unit air outlet pipe to the air filter
unit.
a Torque tighten the clip for the air filter unit air out-
let pipe on the air filter unit (5.5 N.m).
a Clip the air flowmeter wiring onto the air filter unit air
outlet pipe.
a Fit the oil vapour rebreathing pipe.
a Connect the oil vapour rebreathing pipe onto the
rocker cover.
a Connect the oil vapour rebreathing union to the air
filter unit air outlet pipe.
a Refit the engine cover.
a Connect the battery (see Battery : Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Disconnect the high pressure pump flow actuator
connector and the connector for each diesel fuel in-
jector in order to prevent the engine from starting.
a Connect a self-contained starter.
a Run the starter until the oil pressure warning light
goes out on the instrument panel (wait for a few se-
conds).
a Switch off the ignition.
a Disconnect the self-contained starter.
a Connect the high pressure pump flow actuator con-
nector and the connector for each diesel fuel injec-
tor.
a Start the engine.
a Let the engine idle then depress the accelerator se-
veral times with no load.
a Switch off the ignition.
a Check:
- that the turbocharger is operating correctly,
- that there are no oil leaks from the turbocharger.
a Use the diagnostic tool to check for an absence of
stored faults; deal with these and clear them as ne-
cessary.

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery : Removal -
Refitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
a Remove the lower engine tie-bar (see 19D, Engine
mounting, Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 19D-33) .
a Remove the catalytic converter (see 19B, Exhaust,
Catalytic converter: Removal - Refitting, page
19B-17) .
