REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: Turbocharger heat
shield (10,09,01,02).
a Always replace the seal of the turbocharger outlet
exhaust gas duct.
a Always replace the exhaust bracket seal.
a Use ABRASIVE PADS to clean the joint face:
-on the turbocharger,
-on the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct on the
turbocharger side if reusing,
-on the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct on the
exhaust pipe side if reusing,
-on the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct on the
exhaust fuel injector cooler side if reusing,
-on the exhaust fuel injector cooler.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) and CLEAN CLOTHS to de-
grease the joint face:
-on the turbocharger,
-on the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct on the
turbocharger side if reusing,
-on the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct on the
exhaust pipe side if reusing,
-on the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct on the
exhaust fuel injector cooler side if reusing,
-on the exhaust fuel injector cooler.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the turbocharger outlet exhaust gas duct fitted
with a new seal on the turbocharger.
a Torque tighten the turbocharger outlet exhaust
gas duct bolts (XX N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
-a new exhaust bracket seal,
-the exhaust bracket bolts.
a Torque tighten the exhaust bracket bolts (XX Nm).
a Refit:
-a new turbocharger heat shield,
- the exhaust fuel injector cooler.
a Torque tighten the exhaust fuel injector cooler
bolts (XX N.m).
a Remove the blanking plug:
- from the exhaust fuel injector opening,
- from the fuel supply pipe opening of the exhaust
fuel injector.
a Connect:
-the fuel supply pipe union of the exhaust fuel injec-
tor to the exhaust fuel injector,
- the exhaust fuel injector connector.
a Refit the bracket for the turbocharger outlet exhaust
gas duct.
a Torque tighten the turbocharger outlet exhaust
gas duct stay bolts (XX N.m).
a Refit the turbocharger air inlet pipe.
a Connect the oil vapour rebreathing pipe onto the
rocker cover.
a Refit the turbocharger air inlet pipe bolt onto the ex-
haust gas recirculation assembly.
a Clip the turbocharging pressure regulation solenoid
valve hose onto the turbocharger air inlet pipe.
a Refit the air outlet pipe onto the air filter unit.
a Tighten the clip of the air filter unit air outlet pipe on:
- the turbocharger air inlet pipe,
- the air filter unit.
a Refit:
- the engine undertray,
- the engine cover.
