DIESEL INJECTION
High pressure pump: Removal - Refitting

-the turbocharger air outlet pipe (see 12B, Turbo-
charging, Intercooler air inlet pipe: Removal -
Refitting, page 12B-41) ,
-the high pressure pipe between the high pressure
pump and the injector rail (see 13B, Diesel injec-
tion, High-pressure pipe between the pump and
rail: Removal - Refitting, page 13B-71) .
a Disconnect the fuel supply pipe from the high pres-
sure pump (4) .
a Fit a suitable blanking plug on the opening of:
-the fuel supply pipe,
-the high pressure pump.
a Remove:
- the high pressure pump protector nut (5) ,
- the high pressure pump protector bolt (6) ,
- the high pressure pump protector.
a Disconnect the diesel injector fuel return rail union
(7) from the high pressure pump.
