High-pressure pipe between the pump and rail: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery : Removal -
Refitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove the front engine cover.
a Remove:
- the bolt (1) for the intermediate air pipe between
the turbocharger and the intercooler,
- the nut (2) for the intermediate air pipe between the
turbocharger and the intercooler.
a Pull the clip (3) from the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
a Remove the intermediate air pipe between the tur-
bocharger and the intercooler from the turbocharger
air outlet pipe.
a Remove:
- the bolt (4) from the retaining bracket of the inter-
mediate air pipe between the turbocharger and the
intercooler,
- the retaining bracket for the intermediate air pipe
between the turbocharger and the intercooler.
- the seal from the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
Essential special tooling
Mot. 1566 Spanner for removing high
pressure pipes.
Tightening torquesm
nut for the high pressure
pipe between the high
pressure pump and the
injector rail on the high
pressure pump
28 N.m
nut for the high pressure
pipe between the high
pressure pump and the
injector rail on the injec-
tor rail
28 N.m
IMPORTANT
Wear leaktight gloves (Nitrile type) for this opera-
tion.
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injec-
tion: Precautions for repair, page 13B-1) .
WARNING
To avoid any corrosion or damage, protect the
areas on which fuel is likely to run.
