DIESEL INJECTION
Diesel injector: Removal - Refitting

-the diesel injector bracket.
a
a Remove:
-the diesel injector(s) concerned,
-the seal at the bottom of the well of the diesel injec-
tor(s) concerned or on the nozzle of the diesel in-
jector(s) concerned.
a Fit an appropriate blanking plug on the diesel injec-
tor nose.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
a parts always to be replaced: injector seal (11,11,
02,02).
Cleaning the diesel injector well(s) and the diesel
injector(s)
a
a Soak the diesel injector in INJECTOR CLEANING
PRODUCT (see Vehicle: Parts and ingredients
for the repairwork) (04B, Consumables - Pro-
ducts).
a Clean the nozzle of the diesel injector(s):
- either using CLEANING CLOTHS soaked in IN-
JECTOR CLEANING PRODUCT (see Vehicle:
Parts and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B,
Consumables - Products),
- or using a small brush with plastic bristles.
a Wipe using CLEANING CLOTHS.
a Fit an 11mm by 1/4" socket (3) (socket outer Ø =
washer Ø) on an extension piece (4) .
a Wrap a CLEANING CLOTH on the "socket - exten-
sion piece" assembly.
a Soak a CLEANING CLOTH in INJECTOR CLEA-
NING PRODUCT (see Vehicle: Parts and ingre-
dients for the repairwork) (04B, Consumables -
Products).

Note:
If the diesel injector is stuck in the well and does
not come out, turn the diesel injector using an
open-ended spanner on the flat surface of the
diesel injector bracket.
Note:
If reusing the diesel injector(s), keep them in a
hermetically sealed bag throughout the removal
operation.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
WARNING
It is strictly forbidden to clean the injectors with:
-a wire brush,
- an emery cloth,
- an ultrasonic cleaner.
