COOLING
Water pump inlet pipe: Removal - Refitting

a Remove:
-the coolant pump inlet pipe bolt (4) on the cylinder
block,
-the coolant pump inlet pipe,
-the coolant pump inlet pipe seal.
a Remove:
-the bolts (5) from the coolant pump inlet union,
-the coolant pump inlet union,
-the coolant pump inlet union seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) to clean and degrease:
-the mating face of the coolant pump inlet pipe seal
on the coolant pump inlet pipe in case of reuse,
- the mating faces of the coolant pump inlet pipe seal
if it is being reused,
- the cylinder block gasket face.
a parts always to be replaced: seal between coo-
lant pump inlet pipe and coolant pump inlet
union (10,06,01,23),
parts always to be replaced: seal between coo-
lant pump inlet union and coolant pump (10,06,
01,24),
parts always to be replaced: Intercooler air out-
let pipe (10,09,04,03).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the coolant pump inlet union fitted with a new
seal.
a Torque tighten the coolant pump inlet union bolts
(13 N.m).
a Refit the coolant pump inlet pipe fitted with a new
seal.
a Torque tighten the coolant pump inlet pipe bolt
(38 N.m).
a Connect the hose to the coolant pump inlet pipe.
a Fit the hose clip on the coolant pump inlet pipe using
the tool (Mot. 1448).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the multifunction support (see 10A, Engine and
cylinder block assembly, Multifunction sup-
port: Removal - Refitting, page 10A-84) ,
- the compressor (see Compressor: Removal - Re-
fitting) (62A, Air conditioning),
-the alternator (see 16A, Starting - Charging, Al-
ternator: Removal - Refitting, page 16A-1) ,
-a new intercooler air outlet pipe (see 12B, Turbo-
charging, Intercooler air outlet pipe: Removal -
Refitting, page 12B-56) .
