2.1.13 Error reset
60 Problem: Paper tray up or down error at tray 1. When the tray motor rotates for about 20 seconds, no
paper volume sensor signal (tries twice).
Cause: Poor connection, sensor failure, broken wire, motor malfunction, or motor driver board failure.
61 Problem: Paper tray up or down error at tray 2. Same as 60 above.
Cause: See 60 above.
62 Problem: Paper tray up or down error at tray 3. Same as 60 above.
Cause: See 60 above.
80 Problem: Paper feed transmission error (No response from CPU for paper feed).
81 Problem: Paper feed receiving error (communication error).
Cause: Fiber cable disconnected, broken wire, or paper feed control board failure.
2.1.14 Jam detection timing
Checks for jams are done as shown in the figure (both
ON and OFF check). The display shows you the
location of the jam.
2.1.15 Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Causes
Paper dust in the machine, especially in the cleaning unit,
makes dirty background copy.
Paper dust removal roller and mylar are not contacting properly.
Jams during copying and jam indicator A is displayed. The
leading edge of the jammed paper is near the fusing
entrance.
Paper feed sensor 2 remains OFF
Paper feed jam occurs at power ON. This cannot be reset. Paper feed sensor 2 remains ON
Error reset detection, No. 60, 61, 62 Paper volume sensor failure (no pulse).
No size display, tray does not raise. Paper size sensor failure
81/2" x 14" is displayed although B4 paper is set in the tray.
Jam detected and leading edge of the paper is near the
fusing entrance.
When B4 paper was set, the back guide shifted 5 mm backwards.
Paper skews during paper feed, causing a jam. If jam
does not occur, skewed image occurs.
The side guides of the tray are not set tightly.
