Compensation by magnification
To set the value of F at full size mode:
Reduction mode: 7 to 10 steps lowered from the standard step F
Enlargement mode: 8 to 10 steps raised from the standard step F
Compensation by process control
The process control determines the standard step F of
the flash output according to the measured and set VL
data.
(F = Set flash step + shifted flash step)
2.2.9 Error reset
40 Problem: Too much voltage. Flash output is 2100 ± 50V or more.
Cause: Flash power supply failure.
41 Problem: No lighting. The flash detection is not output after the xenon lamp flash.
Cause: The lamp or lamp trigger wire is broken or poor contact, flash supply failure, trigger
transformer failure.
42 Problem: Flash safety switch open, blown thermofuse
Cause: Exposure cooling unit not set properly, bad connection, overheating of the optics unit due to
a clogged filter.
43 Problem: Lens error. Feeler does not come to the magnification HP sensor within 5 seconds after the
mirror/lens motor starts turning.
Cause: Foreign matter present or not enough lubrication of the drive gears, magnification HP sensor
failure, motor failure, bad connection.
44 Problem: Left shield screen error.
45 Problem: Right shield screen error. The feeler did not come to the shield HP sensor when copying
started.
Cause: Broken connection, left or right shield HP sensor failure, motor malfunction, slipped or
stretched timing belt, or overload of the drive gears.
2.2.10 Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause
Trailing edge of the first copy or the leading edge of the 2nd or later
copies become lighter.
Right shield stops to the right.
Trailing edge of the image becomes very black. Right shield stops to the left.
Leading edge of the image becomes very black. Left shield stops on the right.
Copy image is faint (the left and right sides are different) The guide wire for the 1st mirror housing is loose.
Error 42 due to blown fuse on the xenon lamp. Flash blower and exposure cooling fan do not rotate.
The guidance display shows the paper tray misfeeds twice. Then, Error
reset No. 41 will be indicated at the third trial of pressing the Start key. If
copies are made, there is no image on the copy.
Xenon lamp break.
Error 40 and 41. Flash power cooling fan is not operating.
Magnification error The magnification sensor has slipped out of position.
Lens overruns and 1st mirror bracket locks. The magnification sensor is broken or its connector is
disconnected.
