2.9.13 Error reset
32 Problem: Development motor overload. When an overload of 5A or more is applied continuously to
the development motor for 2 seconds.
Cause: The development roller lock-up.
22 Problem: The difference between the toner density sensor levels before and after the toner quick sup-
ply mode continues for 2 minutes is 0.12 volts or less.
Cause: Defective toner density sensor or control board.
2.9.14 Service call
23 Problem: Paper comes to the development unit. After a paper jam occurs and the front door is open,
the ID sensor measures the OPC surface. The ID sensor measures the OPC (or paper)
again after closing the front door. SC23 will light if there is 0.5 volts or more difference in the
ID sensor measurement between before and after closing the front door.
Cause: When an operator opens the transport unit, the paper there falls and goes into the develop-
ment unit.

Problem Probable Cause
The V
SG
and V
SP
on the [4-02] screen show 0 volt (V
SG
/V
SP
shows 99.9). The toner density is controlled by the toner density
sensor only.
ID sensor connector disconnected.
The toner density sensor actual value on the [4-02] screen shows
9.84 volts. No toner is supplied and copying stops due to toner
end.
Toner density control board disconnected.
