6.2 Pickup Nozzle
Replacing the Nozzle Flaps & Skirt
1.
Remove the bolts holding the nozzle flaps to the
nozzle and set aside. These bolts will be located
around the base of the nozzle.
2. Place new skirt into position and reattach all bolts.
Adjusting the Nozzle flaps (nozzle skirt)
In order for the suction nozzle to work correctly, there must
be a gap between the nozzle skirt and a the road surface.
This gap is set by the use of spacers on the caster wheels.
A gap space of 3/8 inch at both sides and rear of nozzle is
recommended.
Note: Your Schwarze Hypervac should come from the
factory with a supply of spacers located on the top and the
bottom half of the assembly.
1.
Remove the retaining bolt and washer, located at the
top of the caster mount assembly.
2.
To decrease the distance between the caster and
nozzle: remove spacers from the bottom half of the
assembly.
3. To increase the distance between the caster and
nozzle, add spacers to the bottom half of the
assembly.
4. To decrease the distance between the caster’s
threaded shaft and the retaining bolt and washer:
remove spacers from the top half of the assembly.
5. To decrease the distance between the caster’s
threaded shaft and the retaining bolt and washer: add
spacers to the top half of the assembly.
6.
Reassemble the caster mount assembly.
