Section 6 - Service
78 SCHWARZE HYPERVAC HV-18 revised 11/18
Replacing the Side Broom Bristles
Broom bristles should be replaced when they are worn to
approximately 6 inches in length. When broom bristles are
allowed to wear shorter, the bristles become too stiff and
loose their ability to ick debris.
Never work on or near the side broom
when the side broom is rotating.
1. The sweeping bristles consist of four sections of
bristles. Each bristle is secured by two bolts and a
lock washer.
2.
Remove both sets of hardware until the bristle comes
loose.
3. To install a new broom bristle, place the bristle
under the two bolt holes. Reinstall using the existing
hardware.
Important: Take special care to not over tighten the bolts.
6.5 Center Broom
Pitch Adjustment (Left, Right, Center)
Note: The Hypervac utilizes vertical brooms to transfer
material to the suction nozzle.
Note: The side brooms also transfer material but are
adjusted from the console as they are a part of the
multiplexed sweep system.
1.
Adjust Center Broom striker patterns using the
Turnbuckle on each broom.
2.
Loosen the Jam nut located next to the turnbuckle.
3. Rotate the turnbuckle body until the broom reaches
the desired pitch that produces the 10 to 2 o’clock
strike pattern needed
The center brooms only have a single fore and aft
adjustment. Tilt is not adjustable. If a 10 and 2 o’clock
position cannot be achieved, the assembly is damaged
and should be repaired.
