3. Remove the pins from the tilt cylinders at the hopper
floor. The cylinders are heavy. Use caution when
removing the pins and lowering the cylinders into the
hopper frame.
4. Remove and Label hoses, electrical wiring, and
hydraulic connections that will remain with the hopper.
5. While supporting the hopper in the raised position
with an approved overhead crane, remove the safety
props and lower the hopper.
6. Affix approved lifting eyes and load spreader if
needed to all 4 lifting eye positions and lift to de-
weight the hopper.
7. Remove the two rear tile pins and lift the hopper
straight up.
Installation
Reverse above procedure
If your sweeper is equipped with the
optional Auto Lube System, actuate the
system to assure the lubrication points
have received lubrication prior to the
timer setting.
6.4 Side Broom(s)
The following sections deal with adjustments and
replacement of mechanical portions of the side broom.
Adjusting the Side Broom Extension Spring
The function of the side broom extension spring is to
counteract the GEO air cylinder. As the geo switch is
activated in the extend position, the air pressure is
increased and pulls the extension spring longer. Before
adjusting the tension spring be sure the pressure to the
GEO cylinder is raising and lowering correctly with the
GEO control. Proper spring tension allows full geo extend
and retract.
1. Remove the Gutter Broom Dust Cover.
2.
Once the Gutter Broom Dust Cover isremoved, the
Side Broom ExtensionSpring will be exposed.
3.
Locate the Eye-bolt attached to the Side Broom
Extension Spring.
4.
To increase the spring tension on the Gutter Broom
Arm, tighten the locknut. To decrease the spring
tension, loosen the locknut.
5. Install the Gutter Broom Dust Cover when the Side
Broom Extension Spring is adjustment is complete.
