SELOGIC Control Equation Variables/Timers
SELOGIC control equations allow the user to create customized logic in the
relay. The variables are labeled SVn (SEL
OGIC control equation variable).
Fourteen SEL
OGIC control equation variables (SV1 through SV14) are
available, 10 of which have timer outputs (SV5T through SV14T) (see
Figure 4.5). Combine the Relay Word bits to form the required logic for the
specific application.
EXAMPLE 4.7 Close Feed Pumps for Long Busbar Fault
For example, in an installation, feed pumps must be closed if a bus
fault lasts longer than 15 cycles. Select SEL
OGIC control equation
variable SV8 to monitor the differential elements and to start the
SV8T timer when any differential element asserts. Set timer pickup
SV8PU to 15 cycles; and timer dropout SV8DO to 0. When SV8T
asserts, close output OUT4, which is connected to the pumps. Enter
the following:
SV8 = 87A1 + 87B1 + 87C1 SELOGIC Variable SV8
OUT4 = SV8T Output Contact OUT4
