WARNING

After fitting the temporary spare wheel,
check the tyre pressures as soon as possible.
Failure to do so may cause an accident. The
tyre pressure is listed on the back of the left
front door frame ›››page362.

Do not drive at over 80km/h (50mph)
when the temporary spare wheel is fitted on
the vehicle: Accident risk!
●
Never travel more than 200km using a
temporary spare wheel.
●
Avoid heavy acceleration, hard braking
and fast cornering: Accident risk!
●
Never use more than one temporary spare
wheel at the same time, risk of accident.
●
No other type of tyre (normal summer or
winter tyre) may be fitted on the compact
temporary spare wheel rim.
●
If you are driving using the spare wheel,
the ACC system could automatically switch
o during the journey. Switch o the system
when starting o.
Integral wheel trim

The wheel covers must be removed for access
to the wheel nuts.
Removing
●
Take the wheel wrench and the wire hook
from the vehicle tool kit›››page325 .
●
Hook the wire through one of the grooves of
the trim.
●
Insert the box spanner through the hook,
rest it on the tyre and remove the wheel trim
›››Fig.243.
Fitting
●
Press the trim against the wheel so that the
hole for the valve fits over the tyre valve.
●
Make sure that the trim is correctly fitted all
the way around the wheel. If you are using an
anti-theft wheel lock, screw it in the opposite
position to the valve.

Removal
●
Fit the plastic clip (vehicle tools ›››Fig.209)
over the cap until it clicks into place
›››Fig.244.

Remove the cap with the plastic clip.
The caps protect the wheel nuts and should be
remounted after changing the tyre.
