6.3.5 Mounting the SR unit on the measuring probe
The measuring probe can be attached to the mounted SR unit. For the sake of simplicity and
to avoid unnecessary mechanical stress on the SR unit, the flange attachment can be
removed and the measuring probe mounted on it separately.
Remove the flange attachment (optional)
‡ If the flange attachment is no longer raised from the previous steps:
‡ Loosen the 4 quick-release locks on the housing of the SR unit.
‡ Raise the flange attachment.
‡ Pull the hinge bolt on the left of the housing out of the hinge and remove the flange at-
tachment.
‡ Mount the measuring probe on the flange attachment as described below.
Mounting the measuring probe
The mounting procedure is identical for all measuring probe versions. The fixing parts are
supplied with the GM35 measuring system.

‡ Place 10 disk springs in each case (with the front ends facing each other, that is, 5 pairs)
on the three threaded pins on the flange attachment of the SR unit. The sectional view
(Fig. 27) shows the exact arrangement.
‡ Pull the sealing ring over the device flange and hang it loosely over the measuring probe,
where it is then ready for use.
‡ Carefully mount the measuring probe with the device flange on the three threaded pins
fitted with disk springs on the flange attachment without damaging the threads.
