8.3.1 Thorough checks before the initial commissioning

k the effectiveness of the protective device on the machine for all operating
modes selectable on the machine against the checklist in the appendix (see
"Checklist for the manufacturer", page 98).
8.3.2 Regular thorough check of the protective device by qualified safety personnel

k the system, following the inspection intervals specified in the national rules
and regulations. This procedure ensures that any changes on the machine or
manipulations of the protective device after the initial commissioning are
detected.

If any modifications have been made to the machine or the protective device, or if
Flexi Loop has been re-configured, changed or repaired, the system must be
checked again as specified in the checklist in the annex.
8.3.3 Daily functional checks of the protective device
The effectiveness of the protective device must be checked daily by a specialist or by
