3.2.3 Protection against tampering
DANGER
Hazar
d due to disabling the protection against tampering!
If you disable the protection against tampering, then a Flexi Loop node can be removed
or jumpered. In this situation the safe sensor cascade switches on despite the change.
Only disable the tamper protection if imperative for the implementation of the applica‐
tion. In this case prevent possible tampering by other measures (e.g. protected cable
laying).
Flexi Soft safety controller
The Fle
xi Soft safety controller saves the node type and the number of nodes in a safe
sensor cascade.
This prevents Flexi Loop nodes from being replaced with other types of node as well as
preventing them from being removed, added, or jumpered. In specific cases, this pro‐
tection against tampering can be disabled (see the “Flexi Loop in the Flexi Soft
Designer” operating instructions, part no. 8014522).
Flexi Classic safety controller with Flexi Loop MSTR accessories
The MS
TR Flexi Loop accessory saves the number of nodes in a safe sensor cascade.
In this way it is ensured Flexi Loop nodes are not removed or added, or Flexi Loop
nodes jumpered.
If you wish, you can configure IO-Link so that the Flexi Loop MSTR2 accessory also
saves the node type. If you do this, the Flexi Loop MSTR2 accessory is able to prevent
Flexi Loop nodes from being replaced with other types of node. In specific cases, this
protection against tampering can be disabled (see "Removing protection against tam‐
pering", page 56).
3.3 Device components
3.3.1 Flexi Loop node
FLN-EMSS0000105 — 5-pin
Figure 10: FLN-EMSS0000105 Flexi Loop node — 5-pin
The 5-pin EMSS Fle
xi Loop node is suitable for connecting dual-channel, equivalent
switching electro-mechanical safety switches, e.g. magnetic safety switches or emer‐
gency stop pushbuttons. The safety switches connected are tested for cross-circuit and
short-circuit as well as discrepancy and sequence errors.
