8.6 Commissioning modules
8.6.1 Connecting the PG
Prerequisite
The programming device must be equipped with an integrated MPI interface or an
MPI card in order to connect it to an MPI.
Cable length
For information on possible cable lengths refer to the Chapter Configuring; Cable
Lengths.
Connecting a PG to an S7-300
1. Connect the PG with a patch cable to the MPI of the CPU.
Alternatively, you can produce the connecting leads with PROFIBUS cable and bus
connectors yourself (refer to Chapter Wiring, Connecting Bus Connectors).
