6.1 Commissioning sequence
You commission the Safety Integrated Functions of a SINUMERIK MC in conjunction with a
SINAMICS S120 drive partially in the TIA Portal and partially in the SINUMERIK ONE
Commissioning Tool.
Commissioning can be roughly subdivided into the following steps:
1. Configuring safety-relevant components (Page 220)
2. Generating a safety program (Page 228)
3. Load the configuration into the control system (Page 242)
4. Configuring NC and drive-specific safety settings (Page 248)
5. Configuring safety functions integrated in the drive (Page 266)
6. Configuring machine data (Page 304)
7. Finalizing commissioning (Page 306)

Note
Deviating commissioning sequence of a SINUMERIK MC with a SINAMICS S210 drive
If you use a SINUMERIK MC in conjunction with a SINAMICS S210 drive, then you cannot use
the commissioning sequence explained above. S210 drives cannot be configured using the
SINUMERIK ONE Commissioning Tool (Page 3). In this case, the complete commissioning
must be performed in the TIA Portal.
The corresponding workflow is described in detail in the separate Commissioning Manual
"Safety Integrated (with SINAMICS S210)".
