4.1 Introduction to Safety Integrated Functions
This chapter provides the following information on the individual safety functions integrated in
the drive:
● Basic principle of operation
● Example of how they are used
● Details and parameterization required, for example when commissioning using the
parameter list.
You can find a shorter description on how to commission the safety functions using the screen
forms of the SINUMERIK ONE Commissioning Tool under Configuring safety functions
integrated in the drive (Page 266).

Difference between Basic Functions and Extended Functions
Basic Functions are designated as such in the chapter headings. Chapters that are not
designated as Basic Functions, refer to Extended Functions.
