Next, prepare the pipe surface for taking a measurement. Remove all traces of paint or any type of
coating. A bare metal surface prepared with an abrasive paper, free of pits, welding seams or any type
of discontinuity is required for the best accuracy. Apply some ultrasonic couplant on the prepared pipe
surface.
NOTE: If necessary, reassemble the 1011TS as shown below.
Press to activate the Thickness Gauge.
Press to invoke the thickness measurement. This selects the graphic screen. [Ready...] appears
at the top of the screen (similar to the example below):
Press to access the Measure Thickness option list, then press to move the cursor to [Yes].
