On the purl side of a fabric of stockinet knitted in medium
yarn, a thick yarn is woven through the stitches giving a
weaving effect.
Select a thin yarn for knitting. yarn and thick yarn for
weaving yarn.
The sample is knitted with the Pattern No.10-(27).
Before knitting pattern in this stitch type, follow the Pre-
paratory Steps given on pages 19-22, and additional cares
instructed below.
SETTING THE YARN
Thread thick yarn (weaving yarn) into the Auto-Tension
and hook it into the Yarn Clip .
Set the Tension Dial for weaving yarn as follows :-
medium/thick yarn . .. ... .... .. .. 2-3
BEFORE KNITTING THE PATTERN
Set the Carriage co n trols.

Set the Stitch Dial one number higher than the one used
for
stockinet knitting.
