General Functions
The A2010 has five function keys, two unmarked keys,
and three inputs:
1 Display
2 Condition scale
3 Peak indicator
4 Measuring key (M)
5 Select key (SPM/VIB)
6 Set key (SET)
7 Arrow key (UP)
8 Arrow key (DOWN)
9 Connector for shock pulse transducers (SPM)
10 Connector for tachometer probe and earphone
(TAC)
11 Connector for vibration transducer (VIB)
12 Master reset key (unmarked)
13 Program version display (unmarked)
Instrument On / Off
The A2010 is switched on by pressing any of the five
function keys.
Power down is automatic approx. 30 seconds after a
function key has last been pressed. If the instrument
fails to power down within one minute, press the
unmarked master reset key (12).
Transducers and Measuring Modes
The TNC connector SPM (9) is used for shock pulse
transducers: hand-held probe, transducer with quick
connector, or a measuring cable connecting via a
measuring terminal to an installed shock pulse trans-
ducer.
The BNC connector VIB (11) is used for the vibration
transducer.
SPM and VIB transducer may be connected simulta-
neously. The key SPM/VIB switches between shock
pulse and vibration measuring mode.
The connector TAC (10) receives both the tachometer
probe and the earphone. The tachometer mode is ac-
tive while the tachometer probe is connected. The
ear-phone mode is active while the earphone is con-
nected.
To exit the earphone or tachometer mode, the cable
has to be disconnected from the connector (10).
Memory
When the A2010 powers down or is switched to an-
other measuring mode, the following readings are
remembered:
• the last shock pulse reading (all results plus basic
bearing data)
• the last vibration reading (vibration severity and
machine class setting)
• the last rpm reading.
The rpm reading is shown when the tachometer probe
is connected. Vibration and shock pulse readings,
including the arrow pointing at the condition scale,
are shown when the respective mode is selected.
Changing instrument settings after pressing the SET
key will not change the last reading or move the
arrow.
Pressing the M key in any of the three measuring
modes will initiate a new measurement in that mode.
