P340 flexiprobe Operation Manual 12
4.3.5 Skids and brushes
Each system comes with a universal brush and skid set that allows you to adapt your camera and pushrod
for deployment in pipes from 2” (50mm) to 6” (150mm). The universal brush and skid set works with 1”
(25mm) and 2” (50mm) cameras and the 25mm solid sonde, flexisonde, universal flexi and the 35mm
flexisonde. The W-skid can be used with the 2” (50mm) camera for diameters up to 9” (225mm).
Skids protect the camera from damage and allow it to safely navigate larger pipes. Use skids with the
camera wherever possible. A central pipe view is typically the best.
Figure 4.1 illustrates a 1.4” (35mm) flexisonde and the brush and skid set required to aid the camera and
pushrod deployment in pipes of up to 6” (150mm) in diameter.
NOTE: Pearpoint recommends using two skids to help keep the camera level.
Example configuration 1
Take a 2” (50mm) camera and a 1.4” (35mm) flexisonde suitable for a 2.8” (70mm) or larger
pipe:
Connect the flexisonde to the pushrod termination socket.
