Pneumatic Fowler Adjustment
Required Tools:
(2) 3/8 Open End Wrenches
Adjustment Procedure:
1. Apply the stretcher brakes.
2. Pump the stretcher litter up to full height.
3. Move the Fowler to 70 or higher.
4. Using (2) 3/8 wrenches, loosen the two nuts (A) on the adjustment screw (B). If the Fowler is not holding
its position, turn the adjustment screw up, away from the release pin on the pneumatic cylinder (C). If
the Fowler is not releasing, turn the adjustment screw down, toward the release pin on the pneumatic
cylinder. Tighten the two nuts. Repeat for the other side of the Fowler.
5. To verify both sides of the Fowler are releasing equally, raise the Fowler to the full up position. Using two
hands, pull down on both sides of the Fowler, squeeze both release handles and verify both pneumatic
cylinders release equally. If they do not, repeat step four. When proper Fowler adjustment has been
verified, return the stretcher to service.
