Tensioner adjuster
Inspect tensioner adjuster for smooth operation.
Replace if faulty.
Check oil delivery passage to tensioner.
Timing chain tensioner / chain guide
Check shoe for wear or damage.
Timing chain sprocket
Check teeth of sprocket for wear or damage.
INSPECTION
NOTE:
If any component is worn excessively, cracked, defective or
damaged in any way, it must be replaced.
Timing chain
Inspect timing chain.
Replace if worn or damaged.
Oil seal housing
Check oil seal lip for wear or other damage.
Replace if necessary.
NOTE:
The lipped portion of the seal must face toward the timing chain
sprocket.
