7 - Preventive Maintenance
Performing the Requested Tests and Settings
7.3.4 Barcode Scanner
ATTENTION
The laser output window of the barcode scanner must be perfectly clean at all
times. Even slight soiling may cause errors.
For cleaning, avoid abrasive substances.
Do not scour the surface. Use a soft, clean tissue.
To clean the laser output window of the barcode scanner, proceed as follows:
WARNING
Laser light (CLASS 2 LASER PRODUCT).
Do not stare into beam nor into its reflections on the worktable.
Caution – Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other
than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Ensure appropriate FDA regulatory actions have been taken for any Class II
laser products.
1 Visually check the laser output window for cleanliness.
2 Moisten a lint-free tissue with alcohol and clean the output window, if
necessary.
7.4 Performing the Requested Tests and Settings
WARNING
Potential mechanical hazard
Mount and close all covers before switching on the instrument.
Keep out of the moving areas during the time the instrument is switched on.
ATTENTION
After the finishing all maintenance and repair tasks, the requested tests and
settings must be performed.
1 Mount and close all covers.
2 Start Freedom EVO and the setup and service software.
3 Perform the requested settings and tests.
Refer to the “Instrument Software Manual”.
4 Quit the setup and service software and switch Freedom EVO off.
