The TekScope instrument shows a bar-graph display of the harmonic
current in the neutral conductor. You can verify whether or not the
large third harmonic caused by the nonlinear load exceeds the
current rating of the neutral conductor.
Going Further
You can change the display scale to see the harmonics you are
interested in. Use the Show item in the display menu to select odd
harmonics only, even harmonics only, or all harmonics up to the 31st
harmonic.
