11.3. Refrigerating system maintenance
The refrigerating system requires minimal maintenance. If due to accidents or breakages oil
or refrigerant needs to be added, it will be necessary to get in contact with Azbil Telstar
Technologies Customer Service.
To assure the proper refrigeration of the system, all the grids must be at a minimum
distance of 20cm away from any other equipment and from the wall.
It is recommended to perform a periodic cleaning of the dust accumulated in the condenser
batteries of the refrigerating system. To proceed, the lateral doors of the freeze dryer must
be opened to clean the battery by means of a small paintbrush, and if it is possible by means
of compressed air. This should be done particularly before summer.
When the switch is off, the compressor continues working for the time set by the collecting
timer (2 minutes) in order to inhale the gas of the evaporator. If the time has passed and
the compressor has not stopped, the equipment will have to be checked, for it’s not
advisable that the compressor works without gas circulation.

11.4. Maintenance table
The frequencies for each operation, particularly the oil change in the vacuum pump, that are
shown in the following Maintenance Table, are suggested values for a normal operation of
the freeze-dryer. Extremely severe working conditions or the use of aggressive fluids can
reduce the intervals mentioned in the Table.
