3.4 Biometry support function
■
This function only supports biometry measurement
and is not the function for biometry measurement
itself.
■
This function can be used only when the 15 MHz B
probe is used
This function provides, using B-mode images, information for helping the selection of
valid measurements when there is a difficulty in selecting them because of the
unstableness of the measurements obtained by the standard biometry function due to the
illness of the patient’s eye.
With the amplifier characteristics similar to the biometric function, this function detects
approximate positions of the cornea anterior, the crystal lens anterior, and the retina on
the line displayed on the ultrasound screen, and displays them with cursors (“x” marks:
cornea anterior, crystal lens anterior, crystal lens posterior, and retina) on the line. The
line and cursors can be moved. The cursors move left and right on the line. Also
displayed are the distance between the cornea anterior cursor and the retina cursor, and
the distance between the cornea anterior cursor and the crystal lens anterior cursor. The
physician should move the line and the cursors to the desired positions based on their
detected positions.
