Bitumen
A thick, viscous, petroleum-based substance used as a bonding
agent in asphaltic mixes.
Bail
A wire frame added to the Tracker that acts as a fixed target to
compensate for rapid air temperature changes.
C
Calibration
Setting the elevation reading or Slope Sensor reading to match
the actual position of the screed.
Compaction
To press tightly, thereby increasing the density of paving
material.
Cone
Pattern of distribution of the Sonic Tracker II™ sound waves.
The sound waves leave the Tracker in a circular pattern that
gets wider as it gets further from the Tracker.
Conveyor
The assembly used to move paving material from the hopper to
the auger.
Cross Slope
The angle of slope required to produce a desired surface slope.
Cross slope is measured in percent.
