Parking Brake Sensor
Theparkingbrakesensorisnormallyclosedandopens
whentheoperatorappliestheparkingbrake.Ifthefunc-
tional control lever is moved out of the NEUTRAL posi-
tionandtheparkingbrakeisapplied,theenginewillstop
running. The sensor and its electrical connector are lo-
cated directly under the operator floor plate (Fig. 20).
Testing
1. Park machine on level surface, lower cutting units,
stop engine, apply parking brake and remove key from
ignition switch.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from the parking
brake sensor.
3. Check the continuity of the sensor by connecting a
multimeter (ohms setting) across the connector termi-
nals.
4. Withtheparkingbrake applied,thereshould not be
continuity across the sensor terminals.
5. Release the parking brake. There should be conti-
nuity across the sensor terminals.
6. Replace parking brake sensor if testing determines
that it is faulty.
7. After testing is completed, connect sensor electrical
connector. Reset the parking brake.
