hasleft-handthreads.Theleftendofthecuttingreelshaftisidentiedwitha
groovecutjustinsideoftheleft-mostreelspider.Tightenthereelnutstothe
speciedtorqueoncethecuttingreelisinstalledinthecuttingunit.
5.Installthereelnutsngertight.
InstallingtheReelAssembly
1.Positionthecuttingunitonaatworkarea.
CAUTION
Contactwiththereel,bedknifeorothercuttingunitpartscanresult
inpersonalinjury.Useheavygloveswheninstallingthecuttingreel.
2.Applyathincoatofgreasetotheoutsideofthecuttingreelbearingsand
carefullyslidethecuttingreelassemblyintotherightsideplate.Makesure
thatthereelbearingisfullyseatedintherightsideplate,andthattherealnut
ontheleft(exposed)endofthecuttingreelhasablacknish.
3.Placetheatwirespringintobearingboreofleftsideplateandcarefully
slidetheleftsideplateontothecuttingreelassemblyasfaraspossible.
4.Installtheshoulderboltsandangenutsthatsecuretheleftsideplateto
thecuttingunitframe.Tightentheshoulderboltsfrom24to27N∙m(18
to20ft-lb).
5.Ifthereelnutswereloosenedduringcuttingreelservice,putablockofwood
betweenthecuttingreelbladestopreventthereelfromrotatingandtighten
thereelnutsfrom123to149N∙m(90to110ft-lb).Fillthereelnutsplines
withhightempMobilXHP−222greaseorequivalent.
6.Installthebedbarassembly;refertoInstallingtheBedbar(page7–16).
7.Installtherearroller;refertoInstallingtheRearRoller(page7–29).
8.Installthefrontroller;refertoInstallingtheFrontRoller(page7–28).
9.Checktomakesuretherearrollerandcuttingreelareparallel;referto
LevelingtheRearRoller(page7–12).
10.InstallanewO-ringonthecounterweightandsecurethecounterweightto
theleftsideplatewithtwocapscrewsandnuts.
11.Ifthecuttingunitisequippedwithanoptionalgroomeroroptionalrearroller
brush,installthecomponentsforthoseoptions.RefertoInstallingtheDrive
