RemovingtheRadiator
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethescreen(item1inFigure12)fromthemachine.
3.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
DANGER
Iftheradiatororengineishot,pressurizedhotcoolantcanescape
andcauseburns.
Donotopentheradiatorcapordraintheradiatorwhenthecoolant
ishot.
WARNING
Ethylene-glycolantifreezeispoisonous.
Keepthecoolantawayfromchildrenandpets.
Keepthecoolantinalabelledcontainer.
Discardthecoolantinaccordancewithlocalhazardouswaste
ordinances.
4.Drainthecoolantfromtheradiatorasfollows:
A.Placeadrainpanbelowtheradiatordraincocklocatedatthebottomof
theradiator.Ensurethatthedrainpanislargeenoughtoholdthecooling
systemcontents(5.2L(5.5USqt)).
B.Loosentheradiatordraincock(turnclockwise)andallowthecoolantto
drainfromradiator.
5.Removetheaircleanerinlethosefromthetopoftheradiatorframe;refer
toAirCleanerSystem(page3–10).
6.Disconnecttheupperandlowerradiatorhoses(items21and20inFigure
12)fromtheradiator.
7.Loosenthehoseclampandremovethereservoirhose(item26inFigure12)
fromtheradiatorllopening.
