Drive belt, non-endless joint
Requirements:
 Machine has been taken out of operation.
 Machine has been secured to prevent it from being switched on inadvert-
ently.
 Corresponding idler rollers are removed.
 Loosen the drive belt
Complete the following steps:
 Proceed as described in the section on loosening/tensioning/adjusting
the drive belt.
 Drive belt is loosened.
 Replace the drive
belt
Complete the following steps:
1. Cut the old belt at an easily accessible point.
2. Connect one end of the open new belt temporarily to one end of the old
belt.
3. Thread in the new belt by pulling out the old belt.
4. Apply an endless joint to both ends of the new drive belt, observing the
manufacturer's specifications of the belt supplier.
 A belt welding device is required for this. Observe the belt manufac-
turer's specifications.
 Drive belt is replaced.
 Assemble the idler
rollers
Complete the following steps:
 Proceed as described in the section on replacing the idler rollers.
 Idler rollers are assembled.
 Tension/adjust the
drive belt
Complete the following steps:
 Proceed as described in the section on loosening/tensioning/adjusting
the drive belt.
 Drive belt is tensioned/adjusted.
