NOTE
The source rod should always be in the SAFE position
when the gauge is not in use.
Instructions for Taking a Standard Count
The standard count consists of 2 separate 2-minute counts.
The first count occurs with the handle in SAFE position.
To ensure that the handle is seated in the Safe position
properly, lightly press down on it (without engaging the
trigger) just before starting the standard count.
During the second part the handle is in background position.
1. Prepare the test site as instructed on page 4–2.
2. Take a standard count by pressing the STD key.
3. Press YES to start the standard count:
4. Make sure the gauge is on the material to be measured and
ensure that the source rod in the SAFE position.
