SECTION 3: HYDRAULIC PUMP OVERHAUL
A. GENERAL
Hydraulic pump should be overhauled after 2500 hours or when internal or external leakage is evident.
The hydraulic pump assembly can be divided into three main components: reservoir, pump section, and
motor (refer to Figure 3.1). Disassemble and replace all worn or damaged parts.
B. PUMP REMOVAL
WARNING: DISCONNECT BATTERY AND DISCHARGE
CAPACITORS PRIOR TO BEGINNING THIS OPERATION.
1. Open right side access panel.
WARNING: BEFORE DOING ANY WORK ON THE HYDRAULIC
SYSTEM, DISCHARGE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE FROM
ACCUMULATOR (IF EQUIPPED).
2. Discharge the hydraulic pressure from accumulator (if equipped) by lifting up on the red
mushroom head valve on the pump assembly.
3. Disconnect electrical wiring.
4. Remove four (4) mounting bolts. Use long extension rachet and matching wrenches below
tractor.
CAUTION: WIPE ALL CONNECTIONS CLEAN PRIOR TO OPENING
SYSTEM.
CAUTION: CAP OR PLUG ALL OPEN PORTS AND LINES.
NOTE: Use back-up wrenches on all mating fittings.
5. Gently rotate pump to reveal access to hydraulic line connections.
6. Use tape to label lines (in and out).
7. Remove hydraulic lines at elbows.
8. Remove pump and reservoir assembly.
