SECTION 5: STORAGE
A. INTRODUCTION
Short term storage procedures apply to storage periods between 30 to 90 days, and extended storage
procedures for periods greater than 90 days. In either case, store the vehicle in a clean, dry place with
protection from temperature extremes and/or high humidity.
B. SHORT TERM STORAGE
1. Wash interior and exterior surfaces of vehicle with a mild detergent, and thoroughly rinse and
dry. Perform the following procedures:
NOTE: In colder temperatures, 32 °F (0 °C) or below, the battery should
be fully charged before storing the unit, and every 30 days thereafter.
(a) Place vehicle on jack stands in accordance with procedures in Chapter 2, Section 1,
paragraph G.
(b) Reduce tire pressure to 15 psi.
(c) Disconnect battery cables.
(d) Lubricate vehicle in accordance with instructions in Chapter 2, Section 1,
paragraphs D-E.
(e) Repack front wheel bearings.
(f) Service transaxle and powertrain components in accordance with the Pro-Mec
manual located in Chapter 5.
C. EXTENDED STORAGE
1. Clean interior and exterior surfaces of vehicle with a mild detergent, and thoroughly rinse and
dry. Perform the following procedures:
NOTE: In colder temperatures, 32 °F (0 °C) or below, the battery should
be fully charged before storing the unit. During long term storage, the
battery should be removed from the unit and charged every 30 days.
(a) Place vehicle on jack stands in accordance with procedures in Chapter 2, Section 1,
paragraph G.
