Section 3 MZ Tow Tractor
(c) Front Tire and Wheel Removal:
(1) Jack the front wheels off the ground using normal jacking procedures found
in Chapter 2, Section 1, paragraph G.
WARNING: IN SOME CASES, WHEEL IS EQUIPPED WITH
RETAINING RING, AND IN OTHERS, WHEEL IS A TWO-PIECE, BOLT-
TOGETHER DESIGN. IN EITHER CASE, TIRE MUST BE
COMPLETELY DEFLATED BEFORE DISASSEMBLING WHEEL.
(2) Remove the five (5) lug nuts which secure the wheel to the steer axle hub
and remove the wheel.
(3) Remove the tire for repair or replacement, as required.
(d) Front Tire and Wheel Installation:
(1) Install the new or repaired tire on the wheel.
(2) Install retaining ring, if required.
(3) Install the wheel to the hub with five (5) lug nuts and torque to 125 ft. - lbs.
8. Hydraulic Steering Pump
(a) Removal:
WARNING: DISCONNECT BATTERY AND DISCHARGE
CAPACITORS PRIOR TO BEGINNING THIS OPERATION. (SEE
PARAGRAPH A.1. IN THIS SECTION FOR DISCHARGE
PROCEDURE.)
(1) Open right side access panel.
WARNING: BEFORE DOING ANY WORK ON THE HYDRAULIC
SYSTEM, DISCHARGE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE FROM
ACCUMULATOR (IF EQUIPPED).
(2) Discharge the hydraulic pressure from accumulator (if equipped) by lifting
up on the red mushroom head valve on the pump assembly.
(3) Disconnect electrical wiring.
