REDUCING VOLTAGE DROP
Thereareseveralmeansofreducingthevoltagedrop;siteconditionswilldictatewhichisused;
1.Thebestsolutionistosplitthenetworkintoanumberofshortspursratherthanonelongrun.Thishastheadvantageof
smallervoltagedropspercablerunandsimplifiedfaultfinding.
2.Onlargeinstallationsinstalla1.0mmpowerpairoraCW1308withadditionalsparepairstoallow“doubling‐up”on
powerconductors.Increasingthecablecrosssectionareawillreduceitsresistancethereforereducingtheamountof
voltagedropped.
3.Loopingbackthepowerconductorsfromthelastintercomtothecontrollerwillformaringcircuitwhichwilleffectively
halvetheresistance.
4.Anauxiliarypowersupplycanbeconnectedtothesitewiringatasuitablepointto“jack‐up”thesupplymidwayalong
