Each machine has its "own" deviation due to the wheel diameter and manufacturing
tolerances. As this error is reproducible, the software offers the possibility to define a
compensation factor.
The procedure: Print any image with a defined width. The wider the image, the more
accurate the compensation will be. Let's say you print an image that is 1950 mm wide in
Photoshop. The print result, on the other hand, is only 1890 mm wide. This means that
your printer prints 60 mm too short on a width of 1950 mm and thus compresses the
image slightly.
Now enter 1890 in the "Actual Value" field and 1950 in the "Target Value" field. From
now on, each print job is compensated by this deviation factor and the images are
scaled horizontally in the software so that the print width should fit all images from now
on.
You can find a better procedure to calibrate the printer in the chapter "Software |
wallPen Control". This section explains how to calibrate the machine by respecting the
exact wheel diameter, so that both horizontal calibration settings can be left at 1000.
