2.1 Motor
2.1.1 Overview
A motor is a component that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive an electric wheel to rotate.
The motor used in electric vehicles has many kinds of medical structure, speed range and electrification form. Com-
mon motors are: brush and geared wheel hub motor, brush and gearless wheel hub motor, brushless and gearless
wheel hub motor, brushless and geared wheel hub motor, and side - mounted motor.
2.1.1.1 Composition of powertrain assembly
The powertrain of Y1S series electric two-wheeled motorcycles mainly includes: electric drive unit, energy storage unit
and control unit. The main components are: wheel motor, lithium-ion power battery and integrated vehicle controller.
2.1.1.2 Main features of powertrain
The motor controller is the control unit of the motor, which adopts the cooling mode of natural air cooling,
completes the energy conversion transmission between the power battery pack and the driving motor, and
accepts the control instructions sent by the vehicle controller to ensure that the motor works according to
the requirements. In the electric state, the controller converts the high-voltage direct current provided by
the power battery pack into alternating current to drive the motor. In addition, the motor controller also re-
alizes functions such as online calibration and fault diagnosis.
