1. Select the Home Tab
2. Enter the Sample Volume, Frequency and Prime Volume for each vessel. A keypad will appear when
each field is selected. Please read the following notes for before programming the variables.
a. The Sample Volume , which includes both the purge and analytical sample volumes, is the
actual sample to be removed from the reactor. The volume must be high enough to pump fresh
sample from the vessel to the monitor cup. The minimum Sample Volume is 2.5 mL.
b.
The Frequency is the rate at which the vessel is sampled. If multiple vessels are being sampled, all
vessels will be sampled in series before the next sample cycle occurs. Therefore, make sure that the
sampling frequency is long enough to allow all vessels to be sampled. The sampling cycle is
dependent on the Sample Volume, number of modules active on the YSI 2900 Series
Analyzer, cleaning cycle, and pump speed. Most sampling cycles range from 3 to 10 minutes.
If using 1.5 meter sample tubing, the sample volume should be set at 2.5 ml. If 3.0 meter
sample tubing is used, set the sample volume to 3.5 ml.
