PBX Cascading
As requirements grow, the OpenCom 100 can be operated together with other PBX
installations. If you merely need a larger number of connections, it is easy to link a
second PBX (PBX Cascading). If you want to operate the OpenCom 100 at several loca-
tions with different PBXs, this is possible by PBX Networking (see page 157).
Please also refer to the short installation guide “OpenCom 100 cascading set” which is
available as PDF file.
Note
It is not possible to cascade an OpenCom 131 with another communications system.
Variants of PBX Cascading
You can combine two PBXs in order to increase the number of terminals that can be
connected. A master PBX and a slave PBX are connected to one another by means of
two cables. The two PBXs essentially function like a single PBX with a higher number
of ports. The master PBX controls the slave PBX. The following PBXs from the product
family can be used for cascading:

with the necessary steps to activate this function.
