HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS
Before starting the system, check that the hydraulic circuits are
connected to the correct exchangers. The water circulation pump
should preferably be installed upstream so that the evaporator /
condenser is subjected to a positive pressure.
The water inlet and outlet connections are indicated in the
dimensional tables in this manual, or available on the website
www.aermec.com.
In particular, the unit is intended to be connected to a hydronic
system which must be designed to be classified according to EN
378-1 as an indirect ventilated system (ref EN 378-1; 2016, par.
5.5.2.2: Indirect vented system), as an indirect closed ventilated
system (ref. EN 378-1; 2016, par. 5.5.2.3: Indirect vented closed
system), or as a double indirect system according to EN 378-1 (ref.
EN 378-1; 2016, par. 5.5. 2.4: Double indirect system).
It is important to follow the recommendations (not exhaustive)
below:
Each water inlet and outlet fitting must be correctly labeled to
avoid incorrect connections.
The water pipes must not transmit radial or axial forces or
vibrations to the exchangers. Use flexible hoses to reduce
transmitted vibrations.
It is mandatory to install a pressure gauge, a temperature
probe and an interception valve on the chilled water inlet and
outlet pipes. Also provide a drain valve at the water outlet and
a vent valve at the inlet. At the highest point of the hydraulic
circuit, install a drain valve while, at the lowest point, a drain
cock to facilitate drainage.
The pipes of the hydraulic circuit must be correctly and
adequately insulated to prevent the formation of condensation
and to avoid unnecessary heat dispersion.
It is mandatory to install an inlet water filter to the shell
and tube exchanger, otherwise the guarantee will be
invalidated.
During cleaning and washing, the unit must be bypassed.
If the unit is installed in places where winter weather, or at night,
is likely to drop below 0 ° C, it is recommended to add glycol
to the chilled water. ATTENTION: to allow the antifreeze
protection to work with the unit off, do not disconnect the
power supply cable.
MINIMUM WATER CONTENT
For the correct operation of the unit it is necessary to guarantee
an adequate water content in the system.
The minimum water content that must be guaranteed can be
obtained from the following formula:
C_min = (10 × Pf)
Where C_min is the minimum water content [l] and Pf the
nominal cooling capacity of the unit [kW].
If the water content of the system is not sufficient, it is necessary
to provide for an inertial accumulation to guarantee at least
the minimum required content.
ATTENTION
Please note that flammable refrigerant might leak out
from all the venting parts fitted on the hydronic system.
Therefore, all measures to manage the ensuing risk must
be implemented (e.g.: absence of sources of ignition, ad
-
equate ventilation, etc.).
For an indirect closed ventilated system to be set up
according to EN 378-1, at least one separator must be
installed in a suitable position of the hydronic circuit,
outside the occupied environment, in an adequately
ventilated area and away from possible sources of ignition,
capable of separating the air or refrigerant from water,
equipped with an automatic vent valve and at least
one pressure relief valve. The choice of the number and
position of the aforementioned parts and their sizing is the
responsibility of the system designer; any safety devices or
vents inside the Aermec unit are not to be considered as a
substitute for these parts.
The automatic air vent must be installed in all the highest
points of the hydraulic circuit, outside the building and
away from sources of ignition, to ensure that it cannot flow
into the flammable refrigerant environment in the event of
leaks. for this we recommend an installation with primary
and secondary circuit.
