MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION
Any cleaning, inspection, control, ordinary and extraordi
-
nary maintenance must be performed by expert, authorized
and qualified technical personnel for the execution of the ac
-
tivities indicated above. These activities must be carried out
with the machine turned off and not powered in a workman
-
like manner in accordance with the provisions of the Ministe-
rial Decree 37/2008.
Perform periodic maintenance of the unit to ensure proper
operation.
ATTENTION
After disconnecting the voltage from the unit, wait at least
15 minutes before accessing and intervening on the electri
-
cal circuit to avoid the risk of electrocution in the presence
of capacitors.
Main parts maintenance
• During the unit washing operations, start the manual control
of the water pump by deactivating the automatic control from
the control panel.
• Do not start the unit until the hydraulic circuit is completely
empty.
• Do not manually restart the unit before 3 minutes have passed
after shutdown.
Maintenance before a long shutdown period
Before stopping a unit for a long period of time it is necessary:
• Perform a leak test of the refrigerant piping. If a leak occurs,
eliminate it.
• Maintain the water pump and all parts of the unit as indicated.
• Completely empty the entire circuit by opening the drain valve
(especially in winter) to avoid the formation of ice in the heat
exchanger.
• Turn off the power to the unit and the water pump.
• Clean and dry the internal and external surface of the unit.
Then, cover it to prevent damage from dust accumulation.
CHECKS BEFORE STARTING
FIRST STARTUP AND MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION
Any cleaning, inspection, control, ordinary and extraordi
-
nary maintenance must be performed by expert, authorized
and qualified technical personnel for the execution of the
activities indicated above. These activities must be carried
out with the machine off and not powered in a workmanlike
manner as prescribed by the Ministerial Decree 37/2008.
After carrying out all the installation operations and before
starting the unit make sure that all the steps below have been
followed:
• Before starting the unit, check the correct earthing of the unit
and make sure that the whole electrical circuit is properly in
-
sulated.
• Check that all connections are clean and in good condition.
• Close the main power switch.
• Verify that the voltage across the terminals is balanced and
within 2% deviation.
• Be sure to connect the system to the power supply or to an
outlet of adequate voltage and frequency as indicated on the
nameplate. Power supply with the wrong voltage and fre
-
quency could cause damage to the unit, with the consequent
risk of fire. The voltage must be stable, there must be no large
fluctuations.
• Check that all the valves of the hydraulic circuit and of the re
-
frigerant circuit are positioned correctly.
• After the water circuit has been cleaned and flushed and be
-
fore starting the unit, make sure to open the water pump, as
indicated in this manual, and that the water quality meets the
requirements of the system, also check that the water flow rate
and pressure are within the indicated range.
• Restore all manual functions set during the installation opera
-
tions.
• Make sure all sensors are installed correctly.
OPERATION TEST
• When the unit is not used for a long period of time or when the
ambient temperature is below 5 ° C, keep the unit energized at
least 8 hours before starting, this allows the compressor base
to preheat in order to evaporate the refrigerant liquid inside
it which would otherwise cause damage to the unit and the
compressor itself.
• Make sure the valves have been opened properly to prevent
the compressor from being damaged due to high pressure.
• Check that the power cables are in good condition and well
insulated and make sure that all the components of the unit
and their protections are installed correctly.
• Using the control panel, check that there are no error alarms; if
one or more errors are present, eliminate them before starting
the unit.
• Once the unit has started up and it is verified that it is working
properly, check the temperature difference between the enter
-
ing and leaving water. Adjust the valve so that the temperature
difference is between 2.5 and 6 ° C.
• With the unit started and running, check if the efficiency dur
-
ing cooling and heating operation satisfies the required re-
quirements.
• It is recommended to start the unit via the control panel mak
-
ing sure to start the water pump first and then the unit and
stop the system by reversing this sequence.
• When the unit is not used for a long period of time or when the
ambient temperature is below 5 ° C, keep the unit energized at
least 8 hours before starting, this allows the compressor base
to preheat in order to evaporate the refrigerant liquid inside it
which would otherwise cause damage to the unit and to the
compressor itself.
• When the unit has to be started up for heating operation but
the circulating water temperature is below 20 ° C, it is recom
-
mended not to start the unit until the water temperature of 35
° C is reached to ensure stable and reliable operation.
