4 Performance Tests
Introduction
The performance tests apply to all laser heads, except the 5517FL. These
tests are usually performed upon acceptance testing, first use, when a
problem is suspected in the laser head, and after repairs or tube and
power supply replacement. Performance tests include the laser beam
power output test and the split frequency test. A wavelength test can also
be performed, but is not covered in this manual (see “Wavelength test" on
page 36).
Recommended Test Equipment
Table 9 lists critical specifications for the required test equipment. Any
equipment that satisfies the critical specifications given in the table may
be substituted for the recommended model(s).
